The Annapurna trek is a popular route and you will encounter many other trekkers and groups on your trip during your hike and at the teahouses. If you are after a trek that sees less travellers and spends more time trekking through communities rather than on a more established route, see our Tamang Heritage & Langtang Valley Trek (HNXV).

Our Annapurna Base Camp trek was absolutely outstanding! We had an amazing leader in Hari, with his excellent supporting guides Lalmati and Nandu. The itinerary and pace of the trek was perfect, and we were very well looked after by the team.

I had the trip of a lifetime doing the Annapurna Base Camp hike with Intrepid. Our Team Leader Hari looked after every organisational aspect of the trip and helped create a happy, relaxed atmosphere. Our group got along brilliantly and we became like a little family up the mountains! The pace of the hike itself was ideal, both challenging enough to keep our heart rates up but also allow us to take in the spectacular scenery of the Himalayas. A once in a lifetime experience that I will recommend to everyone.

I never would have thought that one day I would be able to trek through the Himalayas, nevertheless climb up to and down from Annapurna Base Camp. Embarking on the ABC journey with Intrepid has been an incredible experience. I want to give a special thanks to my trek leader, Dipesh, and assistant guides, Kusum and Sangam, who were amazing human beings, going above and beyond in supporting our group and accomodating to our needs (mentally and physically as a beginner trekker).

I have just finished the Annapurna Base Camp trek and had the most amazing time. The trek was superbly organised and a real team effort from the Leader, Dipesh Kafle, his assistant guides, Kusum & Sangam and the whole portering team without whom we would never have made it! Fantastic weather, wonderful group, the most amazing and varied scenery..,,can’t recommend highly enough. Thank you Intrepid!

Thank you Intrepid, and especially our guide Naren B Tamang for such a wonderful trip together. Not only did I prove to myself what I am capable of physically and mentally on this trek, I also made lifelong connections, learned many things about Nepali culture, and witnessed some of the most amazing views of the himalayas one can imagine. A truly incredible experience that I will never forget. I want to thank again Naren Tamang, Niraj Magar, and Padam Tamang for all their help and guidance. None of it would have been possible without them! Amazing guides and some of the kindest most selfless people I have ever met.

The ABC Basecamp Trek was a transformative experience. The Leaders, the environment, the culture, the simplicity of the daily work, the food, and did I mention the mountains? Intrepid does a great job preparing you (if you read the information they provide) and getting the logistics settled (stays and transport) and the leaders do a great job at supporting throughout the trek and providing a local perspective and cultural guide. Thank you Intrepid for making this challenging trip so easy and transformational.

I can't say enough positive things about our experience. A combination of adventure, culture, religion, local food, natural beauty, and history, combined into a 12-day trek and led by knowledgeable and caring local experts. I highly recommend this trek.

This trek to Annapurna Base Camp was superb. The itinerary was well designed. The trip leader and assistant guides were extraordinarily friendly and helpful. As a man in his seventies, this was a physical challenge for me, but I am glad to have done it - simply the most beautiful place I have been in all my travels.
