Trip Informations
If you’re looking for a two-week adventure full of Morocco’s highlights, this trip is for you! From sacred sites and bustling medinas to the expanse of the Sahara, you’ll be hitting all the popular hotspots and stopping for air in some of the country’s best scenery. Wander in the lanes of the blue city Chefchaouen, explore the Roman ruins of Volubilis and find the cultural heart of Morocco in Fes. Drive through everchanging scenery (look out for Barbary apes and nomadic shepherds along the way), ride a camel towards a desert sunset, hike through lush palm groves in Todra Valley, discover popular filming locations in World Heritage-listed Ait Benhaddou, kick back and unwind in seaside Essaouira and top it all off with the street food bazaars and performers in Djemaa el-Fna in Marrakech.

Don’t let the heat keep you from exploring the world! Summer temperatures can be extremely high in Morocco (over 40°C), which can make things uncomfortable. It’s essential to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat, and drink plenty of water.

Ramadan is an annual month-long festival, during which travel can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the day, such as restaurants or cafes, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider this when selecting your travel dates. You’ll find dates and further information in the ‘Climate and seasonal information’ section of the Essential Trip Information.

There are a couple of long travel days on this trip, particularly the day travelling to the Sahara Desert. Rest stops will be made on the way and you’ll be rewarded with great views on the drive itself.

An unforgettable journey through Morocco’s incredible diversity from desert landscapes to vibrant medinas. We experienced so much in a short time, and Omar’s warmth, knowledge, and humour made every moment richer. A beautiful country, wonderful people, and memories that will stay with me for years.

Really enjoyed this trip round a huge chunk of Morocco. The short treks were the highlight for me - some in knee deep snow some in warm sunshine! I’m not a foody I can and did eat curry every day for 2 months in India and Nepal but wasn’t so keen on tagines after a week.

The best of Morocco tour was excellent. I loved how many places we went too and how varied everything was from snow in the mountains to the Sahara desert, trekking through Todra gorge and the coastal area of Essaouira (loved). There is a lot of travel but so worth it. Our guide Samir was excellent and very knowledgeable. If you are considering booking just do it you won’t be disappointed. This is my 3rd Intrepid tour and all have been fantastic highly recommend using them
