Trip Informations
Get set for an adventure packed with roaming wildlife, remote desert landscapes, semi-nomadic tribal communities and natural wonders – this is South Africa! From Cape Town, this 22-day overland adventure takes you on a ride through Namibia, Botswana and Zimbabwe. See a burnt orange sunset over Fish River Canyon, take a river cruise through Chobe National Park and canoe down the Okavango Delta. Embark on a game drive in Etosha National Park, look out for the Big Five and the endangered black rhino and feel the raw power of Victoria Falls on a journey filled with the very best of southern Africa.
Why you’ll love this trip
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park – home to a wide range of Southern Africa's wildlife, including the endangered black rhino.
Glide through the lily-pad-clad waterways of the Okavango Delta on a mokoro (a small dugout canoe) and escape civilization with an overnight stay at your island camp surrounded by hippos.
Listen to the songs and stories of Namibia’s San people, the oldest inhabitants of Southern Africa, and gain an insight into their traditional customs and beliefs.
Take an optional cruise down the Chobe River for the opportunity to get up close (but not too personal!) to hippos, crocodiles and the Chobe icon – the magnificent African elephant.
Be mesmerized by the staggering force and beauty of Victoria Falls, and experience first-hand why it’s renowned as the ‘smoke that thunders’ – a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.
Is this trip right for you?
No two journeys in Africa are identical. There will be many early starts either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts, and unforgettable moments along the way.
This is a participatory overland camping trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your tent, helping out with camp chores, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of iconic African wildlife. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page at tuuur.com/africa/overland.
The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider. All activities are subject to availability.
Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.

An unforgettable safari adventure! From Cape Town to Victoria Falls, stunning wildlife, breathtaking landscapes, excellent organization, and a knowledgeable, friendly team (Griffin aka OG, Dan, and Steve) made every day memorable. I learned so much, felt safe throughout, and would highly recommend this experience.

100% recommend this trip. Not only was the scenery and wildlife amazing but the group and the team were fantastic. There are early starts but the camp has such a good atmosphere it helps take the edge of, camping was definitely a highlight and you become an expert at putting up tents. Thank you Mambo, Mbithe and Philip for an incredible trip.

Highly recommend this trip as your first time in Africa! Can be some early mornings but the animals are completely worth it! Surprised at how good the food was.

This Cape Town to Victoria Falls trip has been brilliant. The scenery and wildlife has been amazing, the food on tour has been wonderful and we’ve felt looked after at every stage. The crew on this trip have made it so enjoyable. Jackson, Laban and Francis clearly get on well and have been fantastic at sharing not only their friendship but their culture with us!

If you are looking for exposure to wild African animals, stunning scenery and the local people, including the San people, this is a terrific trip. Be prepared for numerous ‘truck days’, though, which are long and hot, due to the long distances involved - it is an overland trip

Could not recommend this enough - Laban, Francis and Jackson looked after us so well. Not only was the scenery and wildlife incredible and the trip so much fun, but we were so well taken care of that we could really relax and enjoy ourselves. The campsites were overall really nice, there were so many fun activities to get involved with like game drives, hikes sandboarding etc. and our group got on so well that I was sad to leave. The drive days can be long and there are early starts but we were fed well and kept very healthy and the sights more than made up for it.
