Trip Informations
The scenic and energetic northern state of Rajasthan is awash with all the colours of India. On this 15-day journey, you’ll learn the history of massive forts, witness the opulence of Maharajahs' palaces and stroll through local markets, all with a local leader by your side to give you the inside scoop. Search for the elusive Bengal tiger, enjoy a shared meal with a family in Pushkar, spend a night in the desert, soak up the natural beauty of vast, shimmering lakes and tick a Wonder of the World off your bucket list – starting and ending in thriving Delhi.
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Walk past the scenic hills, shimmering lakes and marble palaces of Udaipur – India’s most romantic city.
verified
Keep your adrenaline charged with an evening tiger-spotting safari through the jungles of Ranthambhore – one of India's best known national parks.
verified
Visit locals in their home on the border of sacred Pushkar Lake and the Thar Desert – share a meal together and gain insight into local life.
verified

verified
Soak in India’s changing landscapes and travel like a local with rail travel – by choosing trains to get around, you’ll be giving yourself the best opportunity for local interaction, at a more relaxed pace.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
While there is no guarantee you will see a tiger during your safari in Ranthambhore, you may have a chance to see a variety of other wildlife, including hyenas, jackals, deer, langurs, marsh crocodiles, wild boars and birdlife.
verified
Make sure your luggage is light and compact enough to be carried up and down multiple flights of stairs.
verified
There are several long travel days on this trip. Some journeys take 6 to 8 hours but are a great opportunity to get to know locals, fellow travellers, and the diverse scenery. We are covering a lot of this vast country during the trip, so the journey is all part of the India experience.
verified
Prepare for hot and sticky temperatures during the day and cooler climates in the evening, particularly in the desert. Layers are one of the best ways to tackle this disparity in weather.
verified
We visit several temples on this trip, which requires a certain level of modesty. Please bring clothes that cover the arms and pants/skirts that go past the knees. A light scarf is also a good idea for covering shoulders and arms when it’s hot.
verified
We've sourced our accommodation carefully and picked the best possible hotels in line with the Tuuur style of travel. Service and accommodation in India may be different from western standards.

The Intrepid Classic Rajasthan tour is an exceptional way to experience the heart of India, particularly when led by a local as talented as Jitu our guide.
What elevates this journey from a standard sightseeing tour to a truly meaningful cultural immersion is our guides deep-rooted knowledge and passion for country. We experienced the richness of India’s history and traditions with such kindness and thoughtfulness it really made every destination feel significant.
For anyone looking to explore Rajasthan’s iconic sites and hidden stories, traveling with a guide like Jitu is a privilege that leaves a lasting impact long after the journey ends. Highly recommended for those seeking a soulful and well-guided introduction to India.

A wonderful trip for anyone visiting a new destination for the first time. Excellent support from an outstanding guide and the joy of travelling in a small group. Thoughtfully planned and truly memorable, with access to places and experiences that would be hard to organise independently without significant time and local knowledge.
