Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Try to spot the elusive resplendent quetzal as you explore Monteverde’s cloud forests. Better yet, why not consider a jungle zip-line to get high in the sky for the best views?
verified
Explore a maze of mangroves on a kayaking trip on Damas Island. The best part? You’ll paddle alongside a local naturalist and get insider knowledge of the ecosystems and creatures that live here – including white-faced capuchins who often make an appearance.
verified
Take a (fffresh) plunge beneath the cascades of Tesoro Escondido Waterfall. The hike there is half the fun, with river crossings and suspension bridges.
verified
Take in the size and stature of the mighty Arenal Volcano, maybe while soaking in one of La Fortuna’s lava-heated thermal springs.
verified
With plenty of time to chill out at your own pace, Manuel Antonio’s surf vibe is ideal for catching some waves, lazing on the white-sand beaches or hiking the trails of the national park with your travel pals.

While this trip doesn't require a high level of fitness, it’s essential to be at least moderately fit if you want to partake in all activities.

Many of the activities on this trip (both included and optional) take place in the great outdoors. This means you'll need to be prepared to deal with insects and occasionally rustic conditions. It's all part of immersing yourself in this natural paradise.

Costa Rica is generally hot and humid year-round, and from May to October it can be wet too. At night and in locations at higher elevations it can get chilly. Protect yourself from the sun, bring a waterproof jacket and light clothing you can layer, and stay hydrated. Please carefully consider which time of the year you'll feel most comfortable travelling.

Costa Rica is a popular place and can sometimes be expensive. Expect to pay more than you would in other Central American countries for many things.
Itinerary
Travel through the beaches and cloud forests of Costa Rica – a real natural paradise
Discover a region of natural diversity, cultural riches and laidback vibes on an eight-day jungle jaunt through Costa Rica. Thanks to a longstanding tradition of preserving its natural assets, much of the country’s primary rainforest still stands. Opportunities for nature-based activities are endless here and the beaches on both coasts are well worth your free time. Spot monkeys and sloths in the cloud forests of Monteverde, hike to hidden waterfalls and kick back in the surf town of Manuel Antonio. Explore the depths of this vibrant country with plenty of time to make this trip your own.

I enjoyed this trip and Pedro was awesome! That said, consider the hot/rainy climate, and preferred activities when packing (I suggest multiple pairs of pants and waterproof shoes). If you haven't traveled much, the accommodations, while nice, are probably more basic than you are used to (coming from the US).

The Costa Rica Experience was an amazing tour. Pedro is very knowledgeable and enthusiastic. Pedro created a community among our group of travelers. I learned so much about the country and rain forests. I highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to understand more about the importance of the bio diversity of this country.
