Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Cycle across the largest island of the Dalmatia region, through cypress forests, orange and olive trees and white pebble beaches.
Soak up a full day to explore Hvar Island at your own pace – maybe check out the Hvar Spanjola Fortress, go on a short hike or relax by one of the sparkling bays, it’s up to you!
Enjoy a group picnic and an optional wine tasting experience after your scenic ride through the Peljesac isthmus – a hilly Croatian peninsula jutting into the Adriatic.
Spend your days cycling and your nights relaxing. Indulge in harbourside dinners and tastings of traditional cuisines and famed local wines in Bol, Hvar and Korcula.
Explore the medieval walls of Dubrovnik, and if you’ve got time, maybe traverse to the top of Mount Srd for panoramic views over Old Dubrovnik, its harbour and the Adriatic Sea.
Is this trip right for you?
To complete this trip, it’s important that you are both confident and competent in riding a bicycle.
You’ll have a leader that rides with the group, and another that drives the support vehicle (acting as a back marker where needed). Where the vehicle cannot travel directly with the cyclists (e.g. a cyclists-only path) your leader will assign a person from the group to act as a back marker.
While the cycling distances on this trip are relatively short (the longest ride is only 50 km), the terrain of the Dalmatian Coast is naturally hilly and the climate often warm. You’ll need a reasonable level of fitness to enjoy the trip, but the support vehicle is always on hand if you need to take a break for an hour or a day.
As your riding is done mostly on sealed roads with the occasional gravel cycle path, there are no technical cycling skills required. Given the hills, we do suggest practicing riding downhill, so you’re comfortable once the trip begins.
As there are cobblestones and many stairs in most European towns, and space in our support van is limited, it's strongly recommended that you leave any wheelie bags/cases at home and bring a backpack instead.
Hotels in Europe often don't have double beds, but rather two single beds that can be pushed together.
This trip is part of a longer itinerary. You might be joining travellers who have already spent some time together. If you have more time to explore, you might like to check out our Cycle Croatia & the Balkans trip.

This tour was so much more than I expected. I strongly believe that this was due to the great ride leaders. This was a difficult trip due to logistics and yet Igor and Zoran made it seamless.

My partner and I enjoyed this trip immensely. We had great leaders, Davor and Zoran, a fun group of 7 total, and the weather was perfect in early May. Having E bikes for the hilly terrain was a good option, even though we are experienced bikers. The scenery in the islands of Croatia is breathtaking. Everything about this trip was wonderful. Highly recommended.

The Dalmation Coast has got to be one of the most gorgeous places I've ever visited! While some of the cycling was challenging, I can't imagine a better way to really see the countryside. It was only made better by our excellent tour leaders, Davor and Zoran. I felt that I made many friends along the way, and hope to return some day.
