Is this trip right for you?
verified
Travelling on a felucca (traditional wooden boat) is awesome, but it's not for everyone. You will be sharing a sleeping area with your fellow group members for the night and a shared bathroom facility. You'll sleep outside under the stars on a simple mattress, with some bedding provided. If you do feel the cold, you should consider bringing a sleeping bag.
verified
The walkways around many Egyptian ruins can be uneven, dusty and rocky, so be sure to bring comfortable walking shoes. At large sites such as Valley of the Kings, you can also expect to be walking in the elements for most of the day, so adequate sun protection is essential.
verified
Some hotels in Egypt may not have lifts. You may need to climb stairs with your luggage to reach your hotel room for the night.
verified
Temperatures in the Egypt can be extreme, ranging from very hot to very cold, depending on the season – it can even snow in some places! Layers will come in handy for sun protection as well as warmth.
verified
Overnight train journeys are a fast way to cross long distances, better for the environment and a great travel experience. You will share two-berth air-conditioned cabins, with all bedding provided and western style toilets on board.

🌟 Best Tour Leader Ever – A Truly Unforgettable Egyptian Adventure! 🌟
We’ve just returned from the most incredible journey through Egypt, and without a doubt, the magic of this trip was brought to life by our phenomenal Intrepid leader, Saeed!
From the moment we arrived, he made us feel welcomed, safe, and excited for every single day ahead. His passion for Egypt’s rich history, vibrant culture, and everyday life was infectious — every temple, tomb, and bustling bazaar came alive through his storytelling and deep local knowledge.
But what really set Saeed apart was his warmth, humour, and genuine care for each of us. Whether it was navigating the chaos of Cairo, sharing the best local eats in Luxor, or helping us haggle like pros at the souks, he was always a step ahead, making sure everyone felt included and looked after. Even the little surprises – like sunset felucca rides, local family meals, or impromptu local stops – turned an amazing itinerary into something unforgettable.
We laughed, we learned, we bonded, and we left with full hearts, incredible memories, and a new appreciation for everything Egypt has to offer — all thanks to Saeed.

As a first time Intrepid traveller, the tour was amazing. Very well organised. You don't need to think about what you're doing, the guide has everything sorted so you don't need to worry about anything. The only suggestion I would make with the Egypt trip the train travel as it's from the 1940's and very grubby and on the way back from Luxor it's another 10 hour trip and wasted last day, so maybe could add 2 more days to the itinerary. The hotel in Luxor service was a bit lacking.
Other than that, the trip really was fantastic and a great way to see the country with our amazing guide Hassan who is incredibly knowledgeable, well organised and fun.
The tours are very well organised, so if you're travelling on your own i can recommend it.
