Walk in the footsteps of many who have embarked on this challenge before you with a support crew of porters, trekking guides and a local leader by your side every step of the way. ALTERNATE ITINERARY In case of weather conditions leading to cancellations or delays in included flights, this trip will operate on an alternate itinerary. Please see Day 1 of the Itinerary for more details.

Is this trip right for you?
Not sure if this is for you? Read our comprehensive guide on trekking in the Everest region here: https://www.tuuur.com/theme/walking/everest-base-camp-trek . https://www.tuuur.com/theme/walking/everest-base-camp-trek (https://www.tuuur.com/theme/walking/everest-base-camp-trek)
The weather can be unpredictable in the Himalayas and every year a significant number of trips have flights to or from Lukla delayed or cancelled due to weather conditions. See day 1 of the itinerary for the alternative plans should this happen on your trip.
Hiking the Himalayas is no walk in the park. But seriously, this trip includes 12 days of trekking for up to eight hours per day, reaching altitudes of over 5500 m. Depending on the time of year, the weather can be harsh. Ask anyone who has done it and they will say the rewards are worth it, but we can’t stress enough that you must be in excellent health to participate. Think you’re up for it? Read our step-by-step training guide here: https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/trekking-training-guide-tips/ . https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/trekking-training-guide-tips/ (https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/trekking-training-guide-tips/)
The teahouse accommodation on the trek is very simple, with only basic facilities. Access to electricity points for charging devices is at an extra cost. Wi-fi is available at some locations, but connection may be poor.
The scenery and conditions vary between seasons. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to trek in and consult this packing guide: https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/ . https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/ (https://www.tuuur.com/adventures/packing-guide-for-trekking-in-nepal/)
This trip includes one or more overnight stays at elevations of more than 3500 m (11,500 ft), where there is a genuine risk of being affected by Acute Mountain Sickness (AMS). If left untreated, AMS can be life-threatening. While the vast majority of travellers will only feel discomfort, it is not uncommon for a small number of people to need extra care, which will be provided by our leaders and local staff. All Tuuur trips that spend time at high altitude follow our standard altitude safety measures. A number of medical conditions and medications can also reduce your body's ability to acclimatise and will therefore affect your performance at altitude, making you more susceptible to AMS. If you are worried about any pre-existing conditions (e.g. heart problems), or are unsure of your physical ability, you must seek medical advice prior to booking. You may also wish to discuss medication such as Diamox that may help aid acclimatisation. Read more about AMS here: https://www.tuuur.com/altitude-sickness . https://www.tuuur.com/altitude-sickness (https://www.tuuur.com/altitude-sickness)

Important notes
1. This trip starts in Kathmandu on Day 1 at 2 pm. This allows time after the joining meeting to explore Kathmandu.
2. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement will only be included on Days 1,14 (Hotel) and is subject to availability. Please speak to your booking agent for further information.
3. In case of weather conditions leading to cancellations or delays in flights, this trip will operate on an alternate itinerary. Please see day 1 of the itinerary for more details.
4. Ensure you have access to an extra US$500 for emergencies (e.g. severe weather, natural disasters, civil unrest) or other events that result in unavoidable changes to the itinerary (e.g. transport strikes or cancellations, airport closures).  Please be aware that in the event of an emergency evacuation, Tuuur does not have control over which helicopter service may be used. Some helicopters are not in regular use with Tuuur and have not passed our internal safety auditing.
5. We advise allowing a few extra days in Kathmandu at the end of your trip should your return flights from Lukla be delayed due to weather conditions.
6. Your health and safety are our priority. Your leader may delay or stop your ascent based on your medical conditions and AMS symptoms. Please ensure your insurance includes coverage for activities up to 6000m, mountain rescue, and helicopter evacuation costs. Without adequate insurance cover, helicopter evacuation requires upfront payment.
7. You may be asked to provide 2 passport size photographs for your trekking permit.
8. Please provide your full name and nationality exactly as per passport at the time of booking (including any middle names listed on your passport) for flight tickets. Fees may apply for amendments to details within 30 days of departure, and in some cases, you will be required to cover the cost of issuing new tickets.

This is an amazing trip with amazing views. You will be pushed to your limit but that is the nature of a multi day high altitude trek like this.

This Everest Base Camp trek was absolutely incredible. We all had the absolute best time and that was all thanks to our amazing guides Gyaljen, Bipin and Ranju. They always made sure we were healthy and having fun and were great communicators throughout the entire trek. Also without our porters we really couldn’t have done it, so awesome that our bags were always ready and there before us. Really felt like we were in good hands. All of the tea houses we stayed in were comfortable and cozy and the itinerary was perfect and was always just the right amount of walking. Really amazing time and would recommend to anyone!

Once in a lifetime trip with a lifetime accomplishment of trekking to EBC, with lifetime memories. The feeling of getting there (and the top of Kala Patthar) was greater than I imagined; I feel my soul has reached a higher state. Of course some parts are a challenge, it wouldn’t be an adventure without challenges, but our incredible guides Jangbu, Adi, Ganesh and Bikash made it all so much more bearable and enjoyable, as well as the rest of the amazing people you meet here. If you’re up for it, do it, and join the club.

The best trip I’ve ever had. Jangbu Sherpa was also the best leader anyone can ask for. Just make sure to give yourself a few extra days because the flights get Lukla get cancelled all the time ! Overall 10/10 trip
