Is this trip right for you?

Greece is a great food destination for vegetarians. With wonderful fresh produce and many delicious plant-based dishes, you'll have a great time on this trip. For vegans, we recommend reviewing the itinerary and inclusions to ensure that you will be able to fully participate and enjoy this trip. We also have many other trips to Greece which can accommodate a range of dietary requirements.
verified
Summer temperatures can reach 40°C or higher in some areas, so it's important to use sun protection, wear layers to combat the heat and drink plenty of water. Please carefully consider the time of the year you wish to travel and your suitability to that season.
verified
While this trip starts and finishes in Athens, there is no time for sightseeing in this city once the trip has commenced. If you wish to explore Athens' wealth of historic sites, such as the Acropolis, the Temple of Olympian Zeus and the Tomb of the Unknown Solider, we highly recommend that you extend your stay here either before or after your trip.
verified
We recommend packing light as you'll be required to carry your own luggage between public transport and hotels, which can include walking up stairs and over uneven paving.

The was my first Intrepid tour and it won’t be last. It set a very high bar. Our tour leader, Artemis, was a star. Full of life and loved sharing everything about her culture. She provided personalized recommendations for us throughout and really took the time to get to know us as travelers and people. I loved the cooking class, Hydra, Poros, and Kardamyli. Every stop of the trip was filled with joyous moments, beautiful scenery, and delicious food. Loved that all of the producer tours were smaller family operations. Anyone would be lucky to have Artemis as their guide and to experience these gems of Greece.

The trip was just the right pace and having a great balance of included activities and free time. I appreciated the fact that the tour took us to places that were not overrun with international tourists. In addition, Artemis was a fantastic tour leader.

I booked this trip knowing that I would not like some of the food or alcohol offered, but that I would find authentic Greek alternatives, see great historic sites, visit interesting food producers and out of the way places. This trip delivered 100% on all aspects!

I've been on 3 food tours and can't wait to go on my next. The variety of food experiences really made the trips unique and memorable. I love the local vibe and our small group experience.

We traveled as a small group to islands and places that cruise ships never get to go. Meeting local farmers and sampling their products was awesome. My cooking is forever changed after this trip. Greece is magical with Intrepid!

This was my second Real Food tour of Greece, the first in 2019. Both tours were excellent (I’d seriously consider doing it a third and fourth time!) with different amazing experiences even though itinerary was largely the same. The cooking class in Poros is outstanding, and don’t miss the optional sea kayaking in Kardamyli (a new option for me this tour)! A really incredible experience of an amazing country with new friends and new flavors! Highly, highly recommend (maybe you’ll see me again on your tour for my next go round!).

This is the best Intrepid tour I’ve been on. So many great activities it’s impossible to choose a highlight. Our guide, George, was fantastic and lots of fun. Saying goodbye was like saying goodbye to a friend.

The tour was excellent! We visited farms, wineries and cooked a traditional Greek meal on Poros. Eva, our trip leader, was great! She was caring and compassionate always ensuring that each person was doing well and having fun. She has a great sense of humor and sense of adventure which was contagious. She had people dancing on boats and in restaurants and even organized a fun little Amazing Race-like adventure for us in a market. I’ve been on five intrepid trips and never have I had a better leader. Eva was the Greek mom when we needed it … but also the friend who got us all out there and brought out the best in us. She was the leader that made the team as great and cohesive as it was.
