Trip Informations
Why you’ll love this trip
Experience the local hospitality during your homestay with a charming local family in Moulay Idriss – where you can enjoy a hearty homecooked feast by your host and learn about their culture.
Embrace the Atlantic breeze in the coastal town of Tangier and see the vivid blue hues of Chefchaouen over sunset, while you explore the houses and laneways of this surreal city.
See the impressive Roman ruins of Volubilis, which rise from the Jebel Zerhoun Plain, and get lost in the charm of the zigzagging lanes in the once imperial capital of Meknes.
Relive a medieval past in bustling Fes. While many tourists get lost in the labyrinthine streets of the medina, you'll have a local guide to show you the way.
Explore the sprawling public square of Djemaa el-Fna. Where else would you find drummers, dancers, fortune tellers, jugglers, street food vendors and old medicine men all in one place?
Is this trip right for you?
Ramadan is a month-long festival in Morocco, often in March and April. Travelling during this period can be a rewarding cultural experience, however some regular services may not be available during the daytime, such as restaurants or coffee bars, and occasionally travel can be disrupted by events. Your leader will adjust the itinerary accordingly, but please consider your travel arrangements carefully before booking travel for this period.
The trains can get busy at peak periods, so we’d recommend packing lightly and compactly to make sure you can get on and off the train easily and quickly. You'll need to be able to handle your luggage through busy train stations.

An Incredible Journey Through Northern Morocco with Mohamed Nait baaza. Our exploration of Northern Morocco was nothing short of magical, thanks to our outstanding guide, Mohamed Nait Baazaa. From the vibrant blue streets of Chefchaouen to the historic charm of Fez and the coastal beauty of Tangiers, Mohamed’s expertise and passion brought every destination to life.  His deep knowledge of the region’s history, culture, and hidden gems made each day fascinating. Whether we were wandering through the ancient medinas, tasting fresh Moroccan food, or hiking the Rif Mountains, Mohamed’s insights made every moment meaningful. He even introduced us to  family-run restaurants, encouraged us to participate in the responsible travel that Intrepid is doing and giving us an authentic taste of  Moroccan hospitality.  What truly set Mohamed apart was his flexibility and attentiveness. He ensured our comfort, and shared stories that made us feel connected to this stunning region. His professionalism, warm personality, and sense of humor made him feel like both a guide and a friend.  If you’re planning a trip to  Morocco, don’t hesitate to book INTREPID and if you're lucky you might get Mohamed as your guide. You’ll leave with unforgettable memories and a deeper love for this part of the world. "Shukran", Mohamed, for the adventure of a lifetime!

A comprehensive journey into the two worlds of northern Morocco - the modern, European influenced coastal area and the more foundationally traditional mountain village area. An excellent baseline for its sister tour into the far more traditional area of Sahara-influenced southern Morocco.

Travelled as a single lady and loved the trip. The whole group were great. Mbark, our leader, also made the trip a huge success. It wasn't my first trip with Intrepid and it wont be the last. If you are thinking of Morocco and are adventurous, this is a great way to do it.
