Is this trip right for you?
verified
No two journeys in Africa are identical. Be prepared for travel times to be longer or shorter than advised. Weather and road conditions can change things significantly, so embrace the detours, shortcuts and unforgettable moments along the way.
verified
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent, occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of Africa's iconic wildlife. While the trucks don’t have air conditioning, they do have sliding windows, which let in the breeze and make it even easier to take better snaps of the local wildlife. The drive days can be long, but it’s as much about the journey as the destination, and half the fun is the camaraderie. There will be many early starts, either to make use of the better safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days. Camping out in the amazing Okavango wilderness means digging a bush toilet and going without a shower. It's all part of the delta experience.

The day-to-day itinerary features a selection of optional activities. Please note that this list is not exhaustive and is intended only as a guide. Prices are approximate and may change at the discretion of the local provider, and all activities are subject to availability.

This trip was exactly what I needed. From late-night campfire conversations with the incredible Intrepid crew to unforgettable game drives with new friends, this experience reignited my love for trying new things and embracing different ways of life.
While this is definitely not a glamping experience, you'll be incredibly well cared for every step of the way. In return, you'll witness breathtaking landscapes, incredible wildlife, and moments you'll likely never experience anywhere else.
I'm so grateful for this adventure, the people I met, and the memories I made. Africa has left a lasting impression on me, and I can't wait to return.

This trip was amazing our guide, facilities and what we saw just blew me away. A trip of a life time. We saw Elephants, giraffe, lion, baboon, hippo, crocodile, Cheetah, plus many more. You MUST bring a head torch and I brought an insulated coffee cup which was great on the bus. If you are thinking about this trip don’t think any longer just do it.

This trip exceeded expectations. I was able to upgrade accommodations 4 of the 8 camping nights so enjoyed just the right amount of sleeping in a tent for my taste. The crew were wonderful (Leader Bogani; Cook - Lizzie; Driver Sandile) were the catalyst for a family feel to the experience.

I truly had an amazing time. My expectations were completely exceeded, I didn't want it to end. We had an amazing group, and we all became very close. Thanks to Mr. Bongani, Knobbly, Thomas, Ivan, and Tumi, we had an unforgettable time that I'll remember fondly for the rest of my life.

I travel often and alone, so I was deeeeply hesitant to join a group tour. I might not do it often but I will do it again. I’ve met fascinating and similarly travel obsessed folk, some I believe will be friends for life
