Important notes
verified
1. In late 2025 Cyclonic Storm Ditwah impacted many regions of Sri Lanka, disrupting train and restricting safe access to the Knuckles Mountain range. After conducting an in-person safety assessment we have been forced to make some itinerary adjustments on days 3, 4 & 5 for all departures up to 30September 2026. This includes replacing hiking in Knuckles with hiking in Dimbulagala and replacing the train ride to Hatton with a private vehicle transfer. See the day-to-day itinerary for more details.
verified
2. It is very important that you provide your height at time of booking so we can ensure that you have the appropriate sized bicycle when your trip starts. If you do not provide your height ahead of arrival we cannot guarantee a suitably sized bike for you.
verified
3. Some travellers have reported being approached by locals offering excursions before their Tuuur trip commences. This has been particularly prevalent in and around the hotels used by Intrepid. These guides are in no way connected to Tuuur and we cannot guarantee the safety or quality standards of their tours. We advise customers against joining any tour offered by the unauthorised guides.

4. A single supplement is available if you’d prefer not to share a room on this trip. The single supplement excludes Days 3 & 4 (Camping). Please speak to your booking agent for further information.

5. In case of weather conditions leading to cancellations or delays in the included outdoor activities, this trip will operate on an alternate itinerary.
verified
6. You do not need to bring a sleeping bag or sleeping mat. Your luggage will transported by vehicle and will meet you at the camp site.
verified
7. An e-bike option (at additional cost) may be available on this trip. We have limited numbers of these bikes available and they are an 'on request' basis only. E-bike hire only applies to days 6 & Our operations team will verify availability when a request is received and you'll receive final confirmation once the e-Bike hire is confirmed. E-bikes may be available locally at a lower cost, however availability cannot be guaranteed. Please ask your agent for more details at the time of booking.

Great trip with fun activities. The heat was hard to manage at times as activities were all very hot therefore more tiring, but overall experience was great. We were very well supported by our local team and didn’t have to worry about a thing!

I would highly recommend this trip. It’s very active and you cover a lot- hiking, biking and kayaking plus cultural areas of significant and seeing so much of the country. The groups are small at max of 12 so you really bond with everyone & get to truly experience Sri Lanka and all its beauty.

I am a solo traveller who travelled for the first time with Intrepid. As a result of the amazing experience on this trip to Sri Lanka, I will use this company for future trips and recommend this company without hesitation; they are simply excellent. Throughout the 10 day trip, I felt safe but also able to achieve personal goals when hiking, cycling and kayaking. I was treated with immense kindness and respect throughout the trip. The team leader, Shihan De Silva was excellent. The bus crew, Ruwan and Ramesh was very kind. It is a wonderful thing to feel both safe and to be able to achieve physical goals. I feel privileged to have experienced Sri Lanka and interacted with its people in so many different ways. Thank you to the trip leader, his support staff and to Intrepid. I will be forever grateful.

The hike, bike & kayak Sri Lanka tour was a fantastic experience. A comprehensive itinerary that covered so much. Beautiful scenery and attractions, delicious food, and some exciting physical achievements. Our guide Chammy was fantastic, and the itinerary accommodated various levels of fitness, but was challenging enough to make the achievements special! A wonderful experience with old and new friends.
