Why you’ll love this trip
verified
Glide through the lily pad-filled waterways of the Okavango Delta on a mokoro (a small dugout canoe) and escape civilisation with an overnight stay at your island camp.
verified
Be mesmerised by the staggering force and beauty of Victoria Falls, and experience firsthand why it’s known as the ‘smoke that thunders’ – a natural wonder that must be seen to be believed.
verified
Choose to take an optional cruise down the Chobe River for the opportunity to get up close (but not too personal) to cheetahs, crocodiles and the African elephant.
verified
Listen to the songs and stories of Namibia’s San people, the oldest inhabitants of southern Africa, and gain an insight into their traditional customs and beliefs.
verified
Enjoy a full-day game drive in Etosha National Park, home to a wide range of southern Africa's wildlife, including the endangered black rhino.

By travelling on this trip, you’ll directly support our Tuuur Foundation partner, Victoria Falls Wildlife Trust. Donations help employ a team of Community Guardians who collaborate with locals to find sustainable solutions to human-wildlife conflict and conservation in Southern Africa.
Is this trip right for you?
verified
This is an overland trip. That means you’ll be travelling with a group in a purpose-built vehicle, visiting remote communities, setting up your own tent (unless you’re on an Original or Comfort style trip), occasionally roughing it in the bush with no facilities, and getting the best possible views of the Big Five. For more info on this style of travel, see our Africa overland page: https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland (https://www.tuuur.com/africa/overland)

As the early bird catches the worm, the early camper sights the animals. There will be many early starts either to make better use of the safari time or to beat the morning traffic on long travel days.

It’s hard to put into words just how spectacular this trip was! Our guide, chef and driver were legends, and the itinerary has numerous unforgettable highlights. We did this trip for our honeymoon and it was truly the adventure of a lifetime. Can’t recommend it enough.

One of the best trips of my life. I enjoyed every moment, seeing parts of Africa that I hadn’t imagined existed. The crew blew me away with their warmth, charm, energy and professionalism. This was my first Intrepid trip and I will definitely be using Intrepid again.

Highly recommend! Well-organised itinerary (tho few slow days), with animals, stunning scenery, & friendly locals. Dream team crew - Erellah was helpful, organized, and informative guide; Wilson was amazing cook who made healthy, tasty food (including catering to vegetarians); and Ken was friendly, safe driver (and trained mechanic). Am not a camper but enjoyed sleeping under the stars, with comfortable campsites (almost all had hot showers, wifi, pools, bars).

I had an amazing time on this trip. It was really good pacing with ~3-4 hours of driving a day on average (sometimes more). Really cool and wild experience. I especially loved camping in the bush on the island, and sleeping under the stars in Namibia.

This trip was the gift that kept on giving! We were very lucky with wildlife & hosts did everything to ensure sightings. It was thrilling, exciting, humbling, an opportunity to learn & appreciate surroundings. It was truly life-changing & I can’t recommend it enough. So much so, I’m already planning my trip to go back next summer. Shout out to MJ, Rasta & Henry - the dream team!
